February 11, 2022
Hon. Charles D. Baker Governor, Commonwealth of Massachusetts
State House, Room 280 Boston, MA 02133 Hon. Cheryl Lussier Poppe Secretary, Department of Veterans’ Affairs
600 Washington St., 7th Floor Boston, MA 02111
Dear Governor Baker and Secretary Poppe,
We hope this letter finds you doing well. As the members of the legislative delegation representing the town of Randolph, we wanted to write to you to follow up on previous correspondence and urge your consideration towards releasing funding we secured in 2018 that will greatly benefit the Randolph AMVETS.
Working in collaboration with our colleagues in the legislature, we were able to secure funds in the Capital Facility Repairs & Investments Bond Bills for improvements to the AMVETS Post 51 located at 9 Amvets Lane in Randolph. This $150,000 allocation was secured in Line Item 1100-3005 of Chapter 113 of the Acts of 2018.
These funds are necessary for the AMVETS Post 51 to make important repairs and improvements that will ensure the structural integrity of the facility, as well as the safety of the veterans and residents who visit.
Securing the release of these funds will preserve a cherished local institution that serves as an important source of support for those in Randolph who served our country. The Randolph AMVETS prides itself on their philanthropic efforts, and for over 70 years has been a pillar of the Randolph community. They have consistently supported the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts; have provided scholarships for college students; sponsored youth athletics; and have actively supported veterans at every possible opportunity.
I appreciate your time and consideration towards this matter. The release of this funding will make a major difference, and will have unquantifiable positive impacts on the residents and veterans of Randolph.
Sincerely,
Bruce J. Ayers State Representative
